Amalgamated Lifts supports Demelza, Hospice Care for Children by providing free lift maintenance

Amalgamated Lifts - 19 February 2010 – Orpington UK, Amalgamated Lifts leading providers of lift installation, modernisation and maintenance services throughout the South-East of England have entered into an agreement with Demelza to provide lift maintenance services for its children’s hospices in Eltham and Sittingbourne, free of charge, for the next five years.
Demelza provides hospice care for over 600 children with life-limiting illnesses and provides invaluable support for their families across East Sussex, Kent and South East London. Director of Fundraising James Hanaway said, "A huge thank you to Amalgamated Lifts for this generous donation. This will make a massive difference to Demelza as many of our children are in wheelchairs so we rely on good, working lifts on a daily basis. We are truly grateful for this kind of corporate support which enables us to continue our vital work.”
Amalgamated Lifts will provide full maintenance services for four lifts; one passenger lift at Demelza South London in Eltham, which opened last year, and two passenger lifts and one goods lift at the original Demelza House in Sittingbourne.
Simon Smith, general manager of Amalgamated Lifts commenting on the agreement said, “I cannot think of a more worthwhile organisation than Demelza to support in this way. The importance of the care and support that Demelza provides to life-limited children and their families cannot be overstated. We hope to become even more closely involved with Demelza during this year.”
