Amalgamated Lifts wins prestigious London City lift refurbishment contract worth £850k
14 July 2009 – Orpington UK – Amalgamated Lifts leading providers of lift installation, modernisation and maintenance services throughout the South-East of England has secured an £850k lift refurbishment contract for a total of 9 lifts in Bracken House , London. The project involves the refurbishment of four scenic passenger lifts and three service lifts, and a full overhaul of a further two hydraulic car lifts.
Bracken House, near St. Paul's Cathedral is a Grade II Listed building, and following its completion in 1959 was home to the Financial Times newspaper. It underwent major architectural redesign following its purchase in 1987 by Obayashi Corporation, a leading Japanese construction company, and is considered a landmark building winning several architectural awards.
Amalgamated Lifts was chosen based on its ability to handle high-calibre projects, its ability to supply and integrate equipment that will meet the demands of the environment, to time and to budget. On completion of the 18-month contract Amalgamated Lifts has also been awarded the contract for the ongoing maintenance and servicing.
