Amalgamated Lifts sponsors Victoria League's fund-raising concert

Amalgamated Lifts were delighted to be able to show their support for our customer The Victoria League for Commonwealth Friendship recently. The League hosted a fund-raising 'Classical Magic' Concert last month at The Royal Overseas League and Amalgamated Lifts made a financial contribution towards the production costs of the concert programme. The Victoria League is a not-for-profit organisation providing subsidised accommodation in Bayswater for 62 students from Commonwealth or former Commonwealth countries. Its primary aim is to provide a safe and friendly 'home from home' for its residents who are all full-time students a very long way from their families and countries of origin. All the funds will be used to continue the refurbishment of the sitting room of the student house. The building consists of four Victorian houses adapted and converted to meet the needs of student accommodation including single, twin-bedded rooms and bed-sits. A preservation order protects the Victorian facade and needless to say the upkeep of the building both inside and out is considerable. Last year's fund-raising concert allowed for the replacement of the music room floor. We are pleased to support such a worthy cause and congratulate manager Sue Wilson for all her hard work in co-ordinating the concert.
