Amalgamated Lifts wins major contract worth £2.2m with Phoenix Community
Housing.
06 September 2011 - Amalgamated Lifts, leading providers of lift installation,
modernisation and maintenance services throughout the south east of England, has
been awarded the contract for a major project including both installation and
refurbishment of 30 lifts for Phoenix Community Housing’s residents in the Borough
of Lewisham.
The project, to be carried out in four phases, is part of Phoenix Community Housing’s
two year programme of major external works started in July. The contract worth
£2.2m will include the full refurbishment of 26 lifts and the installation of four new lifts
that use drum drive technology to increase car lift space and the replacement of
manual gates with automated doors making the lifts more efficient and easier to use.
This is the first contract with Phoenix Community Housing, most of the work will be
carried out on three main sites and is due for completion within a 12 month timescale.
Jim Ripley, Chief Executive, Phoenix Community Housing, said: “This is a major
project for Phoenix so it’s important we work with a partner that has the same
commitment to customer service as we do. They offer a genuinely ‘amalgamated’
approach to lift installation, looking at the technical and practical considerations,
which ensures that our residents will have the best possible facilities in their homes.”
