This multi-tenanted office block in the heart of the city is owned by the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry and is managed on their behalf by King Sturge. After discussions and negotiations, Amalgamated Lifts were awarded the refurbishment contract to upgrade the four lift installations with new control systems, door drive systems and replacement safety gears. Working closely with the client's consultants, ILECS, we developed a programme and system of work to satisfy the needs of the building, the tenants and the customer. Because the building remains fully occupied during the refurbishment process it was imperative that Amalgamated Lifts were able to work to a tight schedule and complete the works with the minimum possible disruption to the building environment and occupants. The works were carried out to ensure that there were always three of the four lifts fully functional at all times and a seamless transition from lift to lift was attained by achieving the programme and reliability standards demanded, particularly within an occupied building. |
