We complete another prestigious project

Amalgamated Lifts successfully designed and installed a drum drive lift system in a centrally located London property. Our Project Designer worked closely with the onsite architects to design a glass shaft to encase the previous 1930’s steel and mesh works. Mesh is no longer safe under new Health and Safety Laws, but the client wanted to keep both the original mesh and steel works in order to create a rustic timely look within the apartment. The glass enabled this to be achieved.

The interior is just as impressive as the glass shaft with concealed lighting inside the car, and mosaic tiled flooring by Bisazza. Due to space restrictions we needed to ensure all components were measured and carefully selected in order to fit perfectly. We used swing landing and busmatic doors and even built a motor room on the roof to cater to the space restrictions. The motor room has been encased and sheltered from all types of weathers.

This lift travels between 5 floors and has even got its own designed sweep dialling indicator courtesy of our Project Designer. This project, like all modernisation projects, underwent various surveys and site assessments prior to planning and any works commencing.
