INSIGHT: AUTODIALLER

We have on occasion found autodiallers inoperative which can be due to the telephone line or the unit itself. The problem with autodiallers is that until tested, it is never known when they or the BT line have failed. This can impact on entrapments. Our engineers do test them on planned maintenance visits but they can fail in between servicing.

Current regulation EN81 – 28 for new lifts, requires that the emergency autodial system in a lift car is monitored and tested a minimum of every 3 days. This includes the testing of the telephone line, the back-up battery and operation of the autodial unit.

We have researched the market and are extremely pleased to offer to supply and fit a new auto dial system that not only self-checks every 3 days, but checks every 24 hours and reports back immediately of any failure, by way of an email sent to our offices. We can then attend to the fault.
