Three Successful Lift Modernisations

Three successful lift modernisations completed within a state-of-the-art commercial building located in the heart of London

This project involved repainting the entrances, refurbishing the lift cars to complement the building’s sleek, modern aesthetic, and upgrading key machine components to enhance performance and reliability. The result is a smooth transition between floors.

 

Alyson Roper Spotlight

Alyson Roper, one of our longest serving office employees, was kind enough to share some insights into her role as Service Office Manager at Amalgamated Lifts

Alyson has been in the lift industry for an incredible 18 years and has been with Amalgamated Lifts since 2010, starting her journey in the business as Customer Service Adviser, progressing into the role of Live Response Coordinator, and now with a furthering promotion to her current role.

We asked Alyson what her typical day looks like and she explained “There is never a dull moment and there is always something to do!” She spends the majority of her time sorting parts and booking them in, arranging technician visits and supporting all Contract Supervisors in the office

We asked what skills have been most critical to the success in her role, and she credits her people skills and understanding of “helping meet clients’ needs and knowledge of parts to identify solutions”

When reflecting on the industry and changes, Alyson acknowledges she “has witnessed a noticeable growth in female representation, which is great to see” and whilst there has been an increase in customer expectations, she says it is reassuring to know that AL is continuously developing our in-house systems and technologies to accommodate both office and client demands

The best work advice she has received and lives by is “Act now and don’t leave it until tomorrow”

Outside of work, Alyson enjoys “Cooking, spending time with my family, and watching movies.” It goes without saying at all company events, Alyson’s baked goods are always appreciated and delicious!

Delivering Another Successful Project

Our Repairs Department deliver another successful hydraulic lift replacement within the Health Sector 🩺🚑 – Successfully relocating the control panel from the ground floor to the top floor ⬆️

The hydraulic tank also being relocated to the top floor from the lift pit, creating a safer and easier space to work on going forward➡️

 

Apprenticeship Selection Event

On the 13th March we had the pleasure of hosting our first Amalgamated Apprenticeship Selection Event of 2026. The objective behind this event was to get to know our applicants better, whilst also giving them an opportunity to learn more about us and the wider lift industry🛗

During our selection event, the applicants were presented with;
-A short interview with members of our team💬🗨️
-A Maths and English assessment✍📋
-The opportunity to meet our current and former apprentices🤝
-The time to ask questions about the apprenticeships and future career opportunities💡

As always, we see the importance of upskilling our workforce and also introducing fresh talent to the industry. This is something we commit ourselves to day to day🙌

Danny’s 10K Run for PAPYRUS

Massive shoutout and well done to our colleague Danny for smashing his 10K run in just over an hour — an impressive achievement and all for a great cause!

Through his efforts, Danny raised over £1,000 for PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide. An incredible milestone that shows the power of combining personal goals with purpose.

Carbon Neutral 2025

We at Amalgamated Lifts are proud to announce that we have partnered with Carbon Neutral Britain for a second year to measure our carbon footprint and offset our remaining emissions, alongside the reductions set out in our Net Zero Plan.

 

Supply Chain Carbon Breakfast Briefing

Thank you City of London Corporation for inviting us to your Supply Chain Carbon Breakfast Briefing at Guildhall. The hospitality was fantastic and sustainable. It was great to see the results from the efforts that we and others have contributed to their carbon data. We look forward to contributing our support on their Climate Action Plan and advocating responsible procurement in our service delivery.

We are delighted to recognise Samantha Lee who consistently meets and exceeds her targets and is always providing her clients with clear and concise communication. In June her commitment and passion shone through with her clients leaving high praise. It is truly fantastic to see, and it is only right that her efforts are rewarded
